Regarding this the Chairman of the Coimbatore branch of SIRC-ICAI (Southern India Regional Council) said that "It will be a great opportunity for graduates and post-graduates who opt to pursue the CA programme. Clearing that CPT entrance exam was compulsory only till 31st July, 2012. But, now the qualifying candidate can register and complete the course within three and half years subject on passing all the exams and completing the training programme in the first attempt".
However, this scheme will enable Graduates/ Post graduates to register for the Integrated Professional Competence Courses directly. After registering for the opted course, candidates will have to undergo three years of training under a practicing Charted Accountant.
Later, these candidates will be eligible to appear for the IPCC exam after completing their training which is a period of nine months. The students will also have to complete the 100 hours Information Technology Training Course and the 35 hours if Oriented Course before appearing for the exam.
